MV Agusta announces a new strategic price positioning for the F3 R, reinforcing its role as the benchmark SuperSport and redefining its competitiveness within a rapidly evolving middleweight sportbike landscape. 

The F3 R continues to embody MV Agusta’s core values: Italian design, racing heritage, and uncompromising engineering. Conceived, developed, and produced in Schiranna, Varese (Italy), it represents a level of craftsmanship and brand identity that stands apart in an increasingly homogenized category. 

The MV Agusta F3 R has long defined the three-cylinder SuperSport concept, combining Italian racing DNA, premium components, and a complete factory specification. Today, it enters a new phase of its commercial lifecycle with a revised MSRP of €16,000 (Italy).

The SuperSport category is currently undergoing its most significant transformation in over a decade. Traditional high-revving inline-four 600cc platforms are progressively giving way to a new generation of middleweight sportbikes, designed around more accessible power delivery, improved road usability, and aggressive entry price positioning. 

Recent competitors’ entries reflect a broader industry shift toward “headline pricing,” where base models are offered at competitive entry points while key features — including advanced electronics, rider aids, and performance upgrades — are increasingly delivered through optional packages, or activation-based systems. Within this evolving landscape, MV Agusta introduces a strategic repositioning of the F3 R, not as a reduction in content, but as a decisive move to align its positioning with the new dynamics of the segment. 

At €16,000, the F3 R now sits at the core of the new middleweight SuperSport price range, delivering a level of performance, specification, and exclusivity that redefines expectations at this price point. This reinforces the model’s position not only as a performance leader, but also as one of the most compelling offerings in the category. 

THE MOST POWERFUL THREE-CYLINDER SUPERSPORT 

At the heart of the F3 R lies MV Agusta’s renowned three-cylinder engine, delivering 147 hp of class-leading performance and a distinctive character that has defined the model since its inception. The engine retains its thrilling nature, with torque instantly available at low revs and exhilarating power at high speeds, while fully complying with Euro 5+ regulations. 

A defining technical feature is the counter-rotating crankshaft, which counteracts the gyroscopic effect of the front wheel, significantly enhancing agility, handling precision, and overall stability under acceleration and cornering. 

In a segment increasingly dominated by alternative configurations, the F3 R remains the purest expression of MV Agusta’s three-cylinder philosophy, combining high-revving performance with compact architecture and unmistakable sound.

CHASSIS, DESIGN AND RIDING DYNAMICS 

The F3 R continues to stand out through its iconic single-sided swingarm, a signature MV Agusta element that combines engineering function with sculptural design, enhancing both aesthetics and rear-end dynamics. 

The riding position reflects its authentic Supersport DNA, with aggressive ergonomics designed to deliver maximum control and feedback both on road and track, ensuring a direct and engaging connection between rider and machine. 

ADVANCED ELECTRONICS, FULLY EQUIPPED 

Unlike the growing trend toward modular specifications and post-purchase upgrades, the F3 R is delivered as a fully equipped motorcycle as standard, with a comprehensive electronic package designed to enhance the riding experience from day one. 

At the core of the system is a 6-axis inertial platform, managing four riding modes (Rain, Sport, Race, Custom), allowing the rider to fully personalize parameters such as throttle sensitivity, torque delivery, engine braking, engine response, and rev limiter. 

The electronic suite includes: 

  • Traction Control (8 levels: Rain, Road, Track)  

  • Wheelie Control (FLC – Front Lift Control)

  • Cornering ABS with Sport and Race modes  

  • Rear Wheel Lift-Up Mitigation (RLM)

The ABS system adapts its behaviour depending on the selected mode, ensuring maximum safety in Sport configuration and enhanced performance focus in Race mode. 

The F3 R also features a 5.5” TFT color display, fully integrated with the MV Ride App, enabling navigation, route recording, and complete bike setup directly from a smartphone. 

Special attention has been given to riding comfort and control: the introduction of a new 9-disc slipper clutch with torque assist, combined with the MV Agusta quick-shifter, ensures smoother gear transitions and reduces clutch effort by 50% compared to the previous generation.
