"If you don’t have a dream, there is no way to make it come true” - and yesterday night at the Club 55 in Milan the MV Agusta Forward Racing Team shared its own one with more than six-hundred guests as the Swiss-based team presented its new colors for the upcoming 2020 season. The entertaining and stimulating presentation was hosted by Sandro Donato Grosso, who alongside an impeccable Vera Spadini explained why 2020 is a very special year for MV Agusta and it was the president of the iconic Italian motorcycle brand himself, Timur Sardarov, who announced the ambitious goal for the 75th anniversary year of the company. A lot of responsibility on the shoulders of the all-Italian rider line up of Stefano Manzi and Simone Corsi, who unveiled the new livery of their MV Agusta F2 in presence of the 15 times World Champion Giacomo Agostini. Among the list of VIP guests attending the event Laura Barriales needs to be mentioned, as the showgirl and former host of the event will be the testimonial of the team throughout the season. A successful event, which takes the team on step closer to its dream and as every dream contains a challenge, the 2020 one of the MV Agusta Forward Racing Team starts on Monday 17th February with the first pre-season test in Jerez de la Fonterra, before it will be on March 8th in Qatar when the lights turn green for the inaugural GP of the season.
Timur Sardarov – CEO MV Agusta Motor SpA
"Last season was the first season that saw MV Agusta's return to the Moto2 World Championship after 30 years of absence. We have worked hard and learned a lot from the work we have done, and I think the result was great. For this I would like to thank Giovanni Cuzari and his team for the energy invested in the project, he is one of the people who believed in it and who has managed to bring this brand back to compete in the world class. 2020 will be a very important season for us because we also celebrate the 75th anniversary of MV. I think and hope that this year's bike will be really competitive and the couple of riders riding it is a good combination to transmit the right energy. We expect, despite the pressure, great results and we also hope for some podiums. I will certainly participate in the races and I wish everyone good luck; together with MV's support we will give our best".
Brian Gillen – Technical Director MV Agusta / CRC
“The 2019 season was one of exceptional growth and development for our very ambitious Moto2 project. Designing, developing and testing a completely new motorcycle on the world stage is no easy task as you are continuously asking the Team Technicians and riders to not only focus on results, but to also evaluate the continuous flow of new material to develop the bike, a very difficult balance! We have to be very proud of what we have been able to accomplish in 2019 together with our partner Forward Racing Team and we are convinced that we will show our full potential in 2020!”
Giovanni Cuzari – CEO Forward Team SA
"Since the years of Mr. Claudio Castiglioni I had a dream, and I did everything I could to make it come true. The work I've done is a lot, and everyone who knows me knows all the commitment that my team and our team manager Milena Koerner have put into it. Not without great efforts we closed the first season of the F2 project on track, and I think we can be satisfied. For this I have to thank all my collaborators who have made this ambitious and complicated work a little less complicated. We struggled a lot and encountered great difficulties, but we always overcame them with our heads held high. The turning point is to have a dream that has a real purpose. The help and support of MV Agusta, a brand and company known throughout the world and loved and appreciated by admirers of Made in Italy, besides being an added value for us can only be the keystone after all the years of work behind the scenes of the project. For 2020 we expect to start from where we finished in Valencia, we expect to continue to work hard and get the results that this ambitious project deserves".
Milena Koerner – COO Forward Team SA
“It is always exciting to start a new season and this one feels even more special, because in 2019, beside the effort we invested in this project to show steady progress, the passion and involvement that MV Agusta fans around the world have shown us have been very motivating, so a huge thank you to all our partners for the incredible support that allow us to follow our dreams yesterday as today. Stefano and Simone are a perfect match of talent and experience, and they will show the value of this adventure.”
Stefano Manzi - Rider #62
“As Italian rider I’m really honoured to be one determinant part of this project. I’m pleased about the continuity of the technical development and I hope to improve even more myself, especially after the positive conclusion of the last season. This year my teammate is Simone Corsi, certainly one of the most experienced riders, so I may be able to learn a view secret from him. I really can’t wait to get back on my F2 to do my best and try to reach our goal!”
Simone Corsi – Rider #24
“I’m very happy to race with such a historical company like MV Agusta. I have always been in love with the MV Agusta collection, bikes like the MV Agusta F4 are proper jewels. I wasn’t born, but I know very well that Mr. Agostini wrote an important chapter of the motorcycle history with MV Agusta, so I’m honoured and motivated to bring this project together with the team to the top of the timesheets. Since last year the team has done a great job and Manzi has already been fighting with the fastest during the last races. Personally, I had the chance to test the bike in November and my feeling with the F2 was very positive straight away. Now we have all preseason tests ahead of us and for sure the aim is to arrive as prepared as possible in Qatar!”
